Devil in the white city

ABOUT

The World's Fair of 1893, also known as the World's Columbian Exposition, was the most attended event in American history. While it was only open for around five months, it drew more than 27 million visitors to Chicago's White City! The impact this Fair had on architecture, inventions, social issues, and so much more was extraordinary. While this miraculous event was occurring, a serial killer was operating nearby out of his "murder castle."

  • This bus tour guides you to the sites connected to the World's Fair of 1893, including the Art Institute of Chicago, Museum of Science & Industry, Jackson Park, Midway Plaisance, and more.

  • For approximately 75 minutes, you will be off the bus strolling around 1.5 miles through Jackson Park to see the beautiful landscaping, lagoons, and Garden of the Phoenix. Although the tour's emphasis is the World's Fair, you will also see the site of the former "murder castle." Supplementing the entire experience, you will have access to a hidden webpage with historical photos and more you can view from your own mobile device.

  • Duration: 3 hours for the tour only. Add additional time for lunch.
