Did you Know?

While the practice of Paczki Day is traditionally observed the day before Ash Wednesday in the US, in Poland, Paczki sales are the highest on Tlusty Czwartek or "Fat Thursday" (the Thursday before Ash Wednesday). Fat Thursday is actually a National Holiday in Poland. Fat Thursday in Poland marks the start of the final week of the pre-Lenten celebrations!

Celebrate Fat Thursday in CHICAGO!

Embark on a delectable journey through Chicago's Polish enclaves and uncover the rich cultural traditions of the beloved "Fat Thursday" celebration. This one-of-akind tour invites you to indulge in the flavors of freshly baked Paczki, learn about the history and significance of this pre-Lenten feast, and gain a deeper appreciation for the vibrant Polish community that has left an indelible mark on the Windy City. You will get to try one of Chicago's best Paczki from the Polish Paczki Café as you will receive a 6-pack to go.

Then, we will make our way to Staropolska for lunch (menu: choice of mushroom or Chicken soup, Potato Pancake, Stuffed Cabbage with Meat, Polish Sausage with Sauerkraut, Pierogi, 2 Polish Salads, Non-alcoholic beverage and dessert). Next tour the Polish Museum of America, home to numerous Polish artifacts, artwork, and embroidered folk costumes. Followed by a tour of St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church, a historic Polish Church and is considered the “mother church” of all Polish churches in the Archdiocese of Chicago!
